Tanworth-in-Arden Engagement Shoot

I was having a pretty darn good day, and did not think that it could possibly get any better until I received an email from a couple that I shot engagement photos for a few weeks ago.
Maybe I am watching far too much American TV or I am becoming over exuberant in my old age but I found myself doing a very un-English fist pump and exclaiming a rather loud “YES” when I read what they had to say.

We just wanted to say how delighted we are with the engagement shoot pictures, thank you so much. Everyone has said how natural they are and how the pictures really pick out us as a couple.  Gives us a good guide too as to what poses we like/dont like for our wedding

I really cant wait to shoot Kevin and Charlottes’ wedding in October. We now know what poses work from both an aesthetics point of view and a personal one. They feel comfortable with me as their photographer and know that at the end of their wedding day they can look forward to photographs that will have captured their special day and their essence as a young newly married couple in love.
Here are a few of their engagement shots.

The Telford Hotel

Let me start off by saying that Valentines Day 2015 is one that I will never forget.
I will remember a day that was full of love, laughter, a gorgeous bride, a handsome groom and one of the coolest wedding themes that I’ve seen.
Becky and John chose the Telford Hotel and Golf Resort as their wedding venue, which has sweeping views across the historic Iron Bridge and the days theme was ‘Bond, James Bond’.
So much thought was put into this wedding. I loved the giant martini glasses for centre-pieces, the little bottles of bubbles given to each guest to blow as the bride and groom walked down the isle as husband and wife for the first time, and of course the bond themed wedding cake!
Becky’s dress made a statement with its gorgeous red train, which was the perfect colour for the date. John was pure secret agent sophistication with his all black tux, patent leather shoes (check out the photo), which all set Becky and her dress off perfectly.

Thank you for making our day special. It was better than imagined. You were brilliant, especially with the crowd. Thank you – Mr and Mrs Bate xx

A Sunday Afternoon Family Shoot

I loved this late Sunday afternoon shoot with the lovely Perry family and I  had so much fun!
We did the hour long shoot in their own home and used their back porch for the outdoor shots and then set up my portable studio in the lounge, which all worked out perfectly, with fabulous photos being taken.

Just a quick “Thank You” for the photo’s – they’re great, and exactly what we wanted. Tascha obviously loves them too, and we are already planning another shoot at some point next year! I have changed my Facebook pics with a couple of them, and had a couple of questions about who did them, so you may get one or two calls off the back of them too!
Thanks again
Chris

A photo is worth a thousand words

I am in the middle of silly season at the moment. If I am not photographing a wedding I am sitting in my office editing images.
I do love my work though (if you can even call it work). One thing I always forget or should I be honest and say “put off”, is …. blogging.
I always have so much to say and so much going on in my head but when I sit down and try and share it online, I draw a complete blank and then invariably I start chatting to my mum or friends on certain social media sites that are best not mentioned (feel free to like my Facebook page at this point).
So I thought I would just let my photos speak for themselves…..
Right now I am busy working Grace and Rob’s wedding photos from last week, and I thought I’d share a few that I’ve done so far – I have their permission of course.
What do you think?

Leap of Faith

A little over 8 months ago I was sitting in my broom cupboard (office) looking at forecasting figures for the year ahead when I looked up, looked around at my lime green office walls, the flickering fluorescent tube light above my head, picked up my handbag and of course, my lunch and walked out.
I never went back.
I used to be a Marketing Manager, trying to live up to the corporate expectations and live a life that I always knew just wasn’t for me. Like so many people, I was in a rut and I hated my job. Sunday nights felt like I was going to face a firing squad the next day. Every morning was a struggle to get out of bed and put on a mask of positivity, efficiency and corporate confidence.
I was doing something that did not make me happy!
I have always had a love for the arts, I paint, sketch, craft and most importantly I take photographs. I am a qualified photographer and for years my photography has taken second stage. I have been busy rectifying this.
My plan is simply this. To do what I love until I draw my last breath.
I want to wake up every morning looking forward to what the day has to offer me. I don’t want to post “I hate Monday” quotes on my Facebook wall and wish it was nearly Friday when it is only Tuesday. I made the decision to stop wishing my life away.
This is my blog, my diary and my vent. I want to share with you my successes, struggles, moments of madness and always positivity that good things will come.
Stick with me, it’s going to be one heck of a ride!!
