Pendrell Hall

Held at the exquisite Pendrell Hall Country House, Wendy and Steve’s wedding was a glorious celebration of their love for each other and for their family and friends. Guests flew in from all over the world to be a part of their special day, and to say that I have never seen so many happy, smiley faces would be an understatement (especially after the free bar opened for business).
I have two main memories from the day that will always make me smile…
The first is, 10 minutes before the ceremony, the bride was still not dressed and was calmly trying to help the bridesmaids into their dresses with no concern for herself at all. The hotel wedding planner was hopping from foot to foot and all the guests were already seated in the ceremony room. I put my cameras down and dressed Wendy myself. I have never been more thankful for all the times I have peered over shoulders to get perfect shots of the lacing of the dress; so I knew exactly what I was doing – phew!!
The second memory is again about the dress. Wendy, realising that the dresses hoop had snapped and had somehow un-threaded itself, was unable to walk. We were on an outside gravel patio and poor Steve didn’t know how to help. Again, my cameras were put down and I found myself on my hands and knees in the gravel, with my head under the dress, re-threading and attaching the hoop.
After that I made a promise to myself to always carry knee pads in my kit bag!

Thank you for all your help on our wedding day, it was well above and beyond the call of duty.
We have just received our photographs. They are truly amazing, thank you so very much.
Take care – Wendy and Steve

Hogarths Hotel, Dorridge

It may have been a  tad chilly (2 degrees) and a little wet on the January day when Kirstin and Edward had their wedding blessing. However, that didn’t matter as the atmosphere was so joyful and warm as friends and family came together to celebrate.
Edward and Kirstin live in and were married in South Africa in 2014. This blessing and day was a wonderful way for those that couldn’t make it to their SA wedding to celebrate Edward and Kirstin’s love and commitment to each other.
Edwards mum Jane, contacted me and booked my services in November after I was recommended to her by guests that had attended Maria and Gary’s wedding blessing earlier in the year. She sent me this lovely feedback …

It was such a lovely surprise to receive the beautiful presentation case with CD of the photos you took for Ed and Kirst’s wedding blessing on 3rd January – something to treasure forever. The photos are really lovely and I wanted to thank you for the time and detail you put into them. It is very much appreciated.
P. S we love the photo of Kirst and her mum taking a selfie on your website.
Wishing you continued success for the future

Emily, Lily and Maisy – A Family Shoot

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to spend time with Emily, Lily and Maisy in their lovely home.
I had such fun playing tea party and chatting to Lily, while snapping away in one of the most natural family photo shoots I have done to date.
Emily wanted lovely natural photos of her with her two girls (dad was out at work). I didn’t use any backdrops or fancy lighting, opting rather to keep everything as unfussy as possible.
I love this set of photographs, which I think perfectly capture a mothers love for her children and their bond.

Hi Steph, the photos are fantastic, I absolutely love them! Thank you so much. I’m planning which to print for a gallery wall at home and cannot wait to get them up. I think I’ll have to have you back again next year when the girls are older! xxx

A Summertime Engagement Shoot..

Leah and Jordan asked me to take their wedding photographs a few months ago. When I first met them, they were both concerned about being nervous and awkward in front of the camera on their big day. So, to remedy this and get them to feel at ease and comfortable with me as their photographer, I suggested we do an engagement shoot.
Engagement shoots are a brilliant and informal way of getting a feel for being the focus and centre of attention. They also allow you to get to know your photographer and talk through certain poses and shots that you would like taken on your big day.
A gorgeous, sunny afternoon found us walking across a field, laden with picnic baskets, blankets and of course my all important camera equipment and props. We had arranged the use of some private land, away from curious eyes which helped Leah and Jordan totally relax.

Wharton Park Golf and Country Club

Lauren and Roberts’ day was held at the lovely Wharton Park Golf and Country Club, in Bewdley, Worcestershire. It is a lovely venue right in the heart of the countryside, with sweeping views across the golf course and fields.
Although the day was a little grizzly, as our wonderful British weather can be from time to time, no one let the weather dampen their spirits.
I started the day with Lauren, her sister and mother in the bridal suite, where preparations were well under way. Lauren, still in her brides bath robe, already looked stunning and I knew that as soon as she put on her wedding gown, she would take collective breaths away. The energy in the room was electric and Lauren was chomping at the bit to see her soon to be husband Robert and become Mrs Marsden.
Leaving the girls for a few minutes I tracked down the groom and his lovely groomsmen, in order to take a few snaps before all the guests started arriving. Surprise, surprise I found them in the bar area…… but not steadying their nerves with a stiff drink as you would expect. Rather, they were huddled round Roberts phone watching a You Tube video on how to tie the perfect wedding cravat …..

I love them!!!!! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to see them all! Thank you so much!
– Kindest regards, Lauren

Wethele Manor

I have never seen a bride smile so much and so wide as Dana did all day.
Dana and Pete’s special day was all about their family and amazing friends, who were there to celebrate with them and have a stonking good time doing so!
With children laughing and running around, bouncy castles on the lawn for both the little kiddies and the big kids (adults), there was an abundance of photos and moments to capture. I had such a hard time picking my favourites to include in this blog.
When Dana and Pete received their photos they sent me this wonderful feedback:

We have had the pictures printed and put them into lovely folders. We are having trouble picking ones for our wall, as they are all gorgeous, we might end up using them all, it will end up as shrine lol.

I have shown all the family the photos and they love them as much as we do. I knew from the moment we met you, that you would meet our expectations and capture our lovely day.
So a big massive thank you and we will be highly recommending you xx – Dana & Pete

Gorcott Hall

There are some wedding days that I know I will never forget.
Charlotte and Kevin’s was one of those truly beautiful days. It was a day of utter celebration – Celebrating their Love, Life, Family and Friends.
After taking their engagement photos at the beginning of the summer I was so excited about shooting their wedding day. There was no doubt in my mind that we would have the opportunity to capture a wonderful day and take amazing emotive photographs they would treasure for years to come.

Elmdon Church

Gary and Maria contacted me a few weeks ago asking if I could fit them in on short notice.
They had just returned from their  dream Hawaiian wedding and were planning a wedding blessing, where all their loved ones who could not make it to Hawaii, could attend and share in their special day, and celebrate their love for one another.
Gary and Maria had been married on a deserted beach as the sun set, the waves crashed along the shore, a Hawaiian priest recited a traditional wedding blessing and blew a conch shell (is this making you jealous yet)?
The theme of the blessing was “Hawaii” and “tropical” and all the guests were encouraged to wear bright colours and Hawaiian shirts.
The blessing was held in Elmdon Church with photographs taken in the park afterwards.

The whole essence of Mark and Debbie’s special day was celebrating their love and commitment to each other with their friends and family.
I have never met a more relaxed bride and Debbie looked radiant. Guests were given specific instructions to come in what they felt comfortable in, and as long as they were there to share in the joy and love of the day, that was all that mattered.

Tanworth-in-Arden Engagement Shoot

I was having a pretty darn good day, and did not think that it could possibly get any better until I received an email from a couple that I shot engagement photos for a few weeks ago.
Maybe I am watching far too much American TV or I am becoming over exuberant in my old age but I found myself doing a very un-English fist pump and exclaiming a rather loud “YES” when I read what they had to say.

We just wanted to say how delighted we are with the engagement shoot pictures, thank you so much. Everyone has said how natural they are and how the pictures really pick out us as a couple.  Gives us a good guide too as to what poses we like/dont like for our wedding

I really cant wait to shoot Kevin and Charlottes’ wedding in October. We now know what poses work from both an aesthetics point of view and a personal one. They feel comfortable with me as their photographer and know that at the end of their wedding day they can look forward to photographs that will have captured their special day and their essence as a young newly married couple in love.
Here are a few of their engagement shots.
